Anzio is a non-touristic, quiet port town.
Anzio is a non-touristic, quiet port town. Decent beaches, both free and paid. A good starting point for hydrofoil travel to Ponza Island. From here there are hydrofoils that will take you there in an hour and a half. Other places only use regular cruise ships, but they offer a four-hour journey. There are many good restaurants with local fresh fish and seafood as well as local wines. A place worth staying for shorter and longer periods.

if you want to stay near Rome and have the benefit of a cooler summer atmosphere and a beach holiday this it , far better than staying Ostia or Fiumicino. frequent trains air conditioned and an hours journey rome for targeted visiting.

Just a few instances where they went above and beyond: they made us really good pizza when everything else was closed, they picked us up from the train station and they brought us breakfast to the room every. The place is beautiful! You could not be closer to the beach than this, but it is still high up so you don't have sand anywhere. The kitchen is newly renovated with everything you need to cook for yourself. A double bed and a bunk bed, suitable if you have a family. The pictures really don’t do this place justice, for one the terrace is waaaaay bigger than it’s appears and the beach is literally at your doorstep. Also I don’t even know where to start with Luisa and Paolo, the perfect hosts, your treated like family here. it’s also worth noting that for a sea just and hour out of Rome, it is insanely clean and warm, you’d swear you were in Sicily 👏👏😊
